Caitlin Vanaman, Repiano Cornet

Caitlin Vanaman is a trumpeter, cornetist, and music educator. She earned her degree in Music Education at Mason Gross School of the Arts, Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ. She studied trumpet under Dr. Scott Whitener and Dr. Travis Heath. 

Caitlin has had the privilege of teaching music in the NJ public schools since 2010, and she has been a private instructor and freelance musician since 2005. She joined the East Brunswick, NJ public schools teaching faculty in 2012. She taught beginning band in the East Brunswick elementary schools for nine years before moving to Hammarskjöld Upper Elementary School, where she currently teaches 5th and 6th grade concert band, percussion ensemble, and jazz band.

Caitlin has played trumpet with the Eastern Wind Symphony since 2012. She joined the Princeton Brass Band in 2013, where she plays repiano cornet and served as band president from 2017-2023. When she isn't making music, Caitlin is making things out of yarn, cooking, gaming, practicing yoga, and going on adventures with her husband Ryan and their geriatric corgi, Patrick.
