Joshua Shaevitz, Flugelhorn
Treasurer
Joshua Shaevitz studied trumpet throughout school and college before stepping away from the horn to earn a PhD in physics at Stanford University and complete a research fellowship at the University of California, Berkeley. After returning to the East Coast to begin his role as a Professor of Physics at Princeton University, he gradually found his way back to regular playing with various local groups. He joined the Princeton Brass Band in 2016, starting on third cornet, and after several years moved into the solo flugelhorn chair in 2018, where he has remained since. Josh loves contesting, and one of his happiest musical moments was winning the NABBA first section championships with PBB in 2023.
