Michael Spurr, Solo Tenor Horn

Michael Spurr grew up in the North of England playing cornet and soprano cornet with various brass bands before moving to the USA in 1998. After a long break from music, he joined the Imperial Brass Band on soprano cornet before moving to tenor horn. Mike’s first introduction to NABBA was entering the solo contest in 2023 and he won the technical solo contest for flugel/tenor horn. He became widely known as a dependable sub by bands on the East Coast and subbed with the Princeton Brass Band for a Halloween concert in 2023. Mike then just kept showing up to rehearsals as a sub until everyone assumed he had been invited to join. He is delighted to now be fully committed to the Princeton Brass Band!
